    450cc Engine - WR450F - YFZ450R - CRF450X

    Hello Friends,

I'm from a FSAE team from Brazil, and we recently exchanged our 600cc engine tradition for a 450cc vehicle concept. Though, we had some issues with the new engine in last year's competition, and so, we are looking for a new 450cc engine to replace it, being the limitant factor the electric starter, required by the rules.
We are currently using a YFZ450R 2009 engine , so one very similar would be the best for us,such as another YFZ450R or a WR450F,which was told to be very similar, due to the fact that we already have the knowledge to work with it.
The CRF450X will only be wanted if we can not find any of the other previously mentioned.
If anyone has such engines for sale, feel free to contact us through this forum or the email : formula.bmotor@gmail.com.

    Thank you!!!

Stick with the YFZ450R, you won't regret it. You won't have to complicate engine mounting by changing the points and it has a better starter and higher-output charging system than the other two choices (two components that cause headaches for even the best single-cylinder teams). The WR450f also did not go EFI until 2012, so your EFI system you developed for the YFZ450R won't be plug-and-play unless you find a brand-new WR motor.

With that said, if you get desperate and decide you want a WR, Kettering may be able to help.
