We are running a 2001 R6, and we have it running somewhat reliably now.

We are having trouble getting the reg/rec to charge the battery. We have verified the 3-phase AC from the stator (3 wire from the stator), and we have a 5 terminal connector on the reg/rec. 3 of the terminals are the 3-phase, one terminal to positive, and for the last we have no clue. We have tried ground for the last terminal.

On the wiring diagram there is a dot where we believe ground should be, the other four terminals are wired as noted above.

Thanks

As far as I know it should be tied to ground. Make sure your positive and ground wires are plenty big as well, at least 10ga.

When run the engine and hook up the AC from the stator we get exactly 1 Volt DC across the other two terminals. When we shut down the engine the voltage spikes to 12-13V for a second, which is what we want. We just cant get it while the engine is running. Is there some kind of diode switch that we are missing after the reg/rec. Has anyone else that is using the R6 got their reg/rec running properly?
