the stock system uses sequential injection. with sequential injection, each injector fires independent of the others (right before the intake valve opens in each cylinder). with batch injection, all of the injectors fire at once (usually just before the intake stroke on cylinder 1). another variation is bank injection, whereby injectors 1 and 2 fire at the same time (just before the intake stroke on 1) and 3 and 4 fire together (just before the intake stroke on 4).
obviously, sequential is going to be the most effective setup, especially at low rpms/idle. next is bank, then batch.
however, as far as fsae is concerned, it doesn't really matter which setup you use, because you're going to spend all of your time at revs sufficiently high enough to render injector pulse timing unimportant (the differences at high rpms between the 3 setups are virtually non-existant)
