Hey Teams,
So far, the following teams are in for the Grand Prix, May 22-24:
1. SVSU
2. UW-Madison
3. Akron
4. Carleton
5. Guelph
6. U Florida
7. open
8. open
That leaves 2 spots open, and so far UTA and U of Washington have been penciled in. We would still like to invite more teams to be spectators and possible back-ups, just in case on of the teams cannot attend.
For the teams that haven't heard yet,
"˘ May 22-24 (days following competition),
"˘ SVSU is about 1.5 hours north of Pontiac,
"˘ Official timing and scoring by the Saginaw Valley Region SCCA,
"˘ Australian Pursuit head-to-head racing (that's when 2 cars start on opposite sides of the track and chase each other until one closes the time gap within 10 seconds or finishes 20 laps first),
"˘ Tournament bracket, double elimination,
"˘ Housing included in $50 per team,
"˘ 3 meals,
"˘ Prizes to the winners from Walbro Engine Management, TechTech Motorsports, and SVSU,
"˘ No paperwork or presentations to give"”just racin'!
Last year Wollongong won the GP followed by (not sure of the order) UW-Madison, U of Washington, Akron, Carleton, Guelph, and, unfortunately, Toronto couldn't make it last minute.
It's a great time to just race for fun after competition. Check it out at www.svsu.edu/fsae (http://www.svsu.edu/fsae). Feel free to contact me as soon as you can with any questions at phdegner@svsu.edu.
Thanks,
