Hi all,

I was wondering how come most of the teams place the cooling duct in a way that the flow exiting the duct is directed in between the rear tyres instead of pointing the exit away from the car?

What point are you trying to make?

Most speeds are too low to really have an aerodynamic affect based on the cooling duct exit. Hehe, just have it dump on the tire you expect to corner most on and walla instant tire warmer! http://fsae.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif http://fsae.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_eek.gif But it really is just a matter of packaging and placement, so I agree what point are you after?

Sorry for not making it clear. I mean is there any advantage in dumping the air on the rear end or tyres? I don't see why it should be better than pointing it away from the car.

I'd say the only thing to really take note of is the hot air... at high speeds it will make a difference but typically since most fsae car's are not wind tunnel tested there will be a negligable difference.
