Hey, a lot of times when I use beam elements and apply loads, I getting this error that says forces not applied on inactive node. It comes up as some geometrical error, but I have no idea why it does this. It tends to do this when I apply a force to a node that has more than 2 beam elements meeting together, although I have experienced this problem when I have the load applied to a node with only 1 element. Anyone else run into this problem or know how to get around this? It really bugs the **** out of me.

We use ALGOR as well but I don't recall getting that error in particular. If you're in a computer lab here are a couple things to try that have fixed about 93.7% of my problems.

First make sure you're using the same computer every time. Even though the program seems the same people will mess with some settings. ALGOR is finicky. Second, restart the computer as soon as you sit down. Public computers are on all the time and restarting it will empty the cache memory or whatever... it works. The last bit of advice I have gotten from my professors is to call ALGOR and ask them.

i'm use ALGOR software to analyse the unsteady fluid flow within a mechanical seal.

there are some warnings due to the geomatry problem.

for your info, the 3D model were develop using autodesk inventor.
