Students interested in any phase of the Petroleum Industry including Drilling, Completions, Facilities, Pipe Lines, Rigs, Operations, Materials, Equipment Manufacturing, Plant Design and Operation, Maintenance, Environmental Protection and Innovations are eligible to apply for the scholarships.

High School Scholarships
Eight scholarships of $1,000 each will be given to eight individual high school seniors.

College Scholarships
Twenty scholarships of $2,000 each will be given to twenty individual college students.


Fellowship
The ASME Petroleum Division Graduate Fellowship offers two yearly fellowship award that provides financial support to a student who has earned a bachelor degree in an engineering curriculum and has been accepted in a graduate engineering school. The ASME Petroleum Division seeks to ensure the vitality of the human resource base in the mechanical engineering field as applied to the petroleum industry and will award two annual fellowships of $10,000 to the most qualified applicants.

Eligibility for scholarships:
• Submit a maximum of two page and a minimum of one page, typed, double spaced essay detailing the student’s interest in the petroleum industry, what challenges the industry offers them and what value they may add to the industry.
• Provide a letter of recommendation from a Section Faculty Advisor or teacher from the disciplines of engineering, math, and/or science.
• Provide an official transcript of current enrollment from an ABET accredited (domestic) university or equivalent (international) college’s registrar office.
• Be a current member in good standing of ASME.
($25 for student membership)

Reminder that the deadline is approaching and while the executive committee doubled the budget yet the number of applications received hasn’t!
