I know a lot of ppl would like to see the door opened to 2 cycle engines, i mean there light, simple and can make a lot of hp. I think one reason for outlawing them is the emissions. If you look into motorsports, things are going to 4 cycle. Briggs & Stratton came out with a 45hp single for carting called the World Formula thats based off the OHV 6.5hp production engine to remidy the removable of 2 cycles. Atvs and snowmobiles are going to 4 cycles. Even things like lawn care are getting away from the 2's, Honda has a mini 4 cycle that can be run in any orientation.
Then theres Diesel Fuel. I know Gale Banks would love to see that, since he is the man that built the "Project Sidwinder" Dodge pickup that holds the diesel truck land speed record at 210mph. And just think of all that black smoke at acceleration!!!!!

As I recall, UWP's clean sled was the only 2-cycle entry at the competition. And they still passed emmisions when 5 teams with 4-cycles did not. Of course they managed that with a secondary combustion chamber that was good for roasting hotdogs and emmiting a 4 foot blue flame from the exhaust.

Well if we go to diesel I'd like to get some from Europe to be fair.

But if you want to get deep into those alternative fuels, why not try the sun? Hey, maybe then we won't get so offended when someone asks, "is that a solar car?"
