Dear all,

We apologise for intruding into this forum group with a sales pitch, but we know we have a good product that would benenfit some teams out there and we are keen to offer it at a special price.

HOPE Technik has what is arguably the LIGHTEST transmission oil circulation pump in the market. The pump is coupled to an included oil filter (63 micron stainless steel element, replaceable and washable), and this entire assembly weighs LESS THAN 400 GRAMS.

Other features include a transparent transfer tube between the pump and filter, allowing convenient visual inspection of the oil. In addition, the end fittings were customised to JIC (-6) fittings, making them extremely motorsport friendly.

The pump itself is a rare German-made pump that BMW has used successfully in its 320i WTCC racecars as well as on their M3GTR and Z4M. Our customers have used it, in addition to providing oil cooling pumping for their transmissions, to pump oil to their turbos as well as in pairs to scavenge their dry-sump converted engines (Two customers used them on Yamaha R1 engines).

We believe this product could aid certain teams' design of their powertrain, and at the mentioned weight, is almost a perfect component for FSAE. Two of the employees in HOPE Technik are actually refugees from FSAE, before they took on professional motorsports, and have made it possible to offer these pumps to FSAE teams at distributor prices. (We would only accept purchase orders from academic institions please)

If you are interested, please contact us at info@hopetechnik.com for more information. Once again, sorry for intruding into this forum and best wishes for the races!

Why would anyone want to have a pump or radiator on a tranny? I dont think there are very many teams that have transmission failures, and if they do its probably because of there shifting system or driver inputs....

Im not sold yet.....

Twin electric drysump scavenge pumps feeding into an air-oil separator that then feeds the stock oil pump? Could be lightweight, certainly requires less in the way of design that mechanically driven pumps.

I think everyone would probably be sceptical because most teams dont require a transmission pump. Nor do they require a mechanical water pump.

400g is not bad for a filter and pump assembly i know any electric pump ive been able to find has been atleast 1kg. however since they arent positive displacement they arent much use for our turbo oil scavenge applications.

Also i think you would find that a decently designed pump dry sump scavenge system could weigh less than 300 grams per stage. Not including lines and fitting, however neighter does your suggested weight.

The added bonus of the mechanically driven system is less drain on your electrical system. Which could mean adding an extra kilo in battery volume.

Not to say your product isnt valid, however for our applications if you truely are chasing weight it may not be the most suitable.
