Just wondering if the Fluent CFD package was included with your copy of virtual 4-stroke or if you had to plead with the makers of Fluent to give you a copy as well.

(or does your university simply have Fluent)

Fluent isn't included with Virtual 4-stroke. However, it isn't required and I haven't used the CFD coupling function. After reading one of Gordon Blair's articles about simulation of restricted emngines and the comparison between the output using CFD coupling on the restrictor and not using it,I would say that using it isn't neccesary. However, it may prove useful if the CFD element was the plenum, which I'm not sure if you can do.

we did not do CFD this year, and thought we had a valid argument, but the judges asked where our CFD was...so to make them happy, we are going to do it this year.
