can anyone tell me what boundary conditions do i have to put to run CFD for the restrictor? Is it feasible to run for the whole system or is it too much?

cfd on the whole system will probably be a huge waste of time...
Keep it simple and spend time testing it would be my advice... I'm curently making cfd on the restrictor only and it takes lots of time

What CFD package are you running Belo? My engine team captain is going to undertake this project in Fluent and was wondering if you had any advice.
Also, go Sherbrooke for starting an FSAE team. Being a Vermont native, I have many a memory of that town.

I was thinking of using Vectis. I have the cad model in Vectis, prepared it to run, but have not figured out how to get the solver to run the model. I can also see what it does for our Wave model to couple it with Vectis. I've only messed with it for a short while so far, though. Any input would be appreciated http://fsae.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Our college uses Pro Engineer as it's basic CADing software, so all our models are made up in Pro E. I was reading Fluent's website a little bit ago and they said that there was add on capability for their preprocessor Gambit to convert Pro E models, but it also works for ACIS, STEP or IGES formats, without the add in. A professor just got the license for the software, so we're trying to show him how useful it can be.
