Inertia Test Rig

Hi Guys,

I'm looking to design and build an inertia test rig. was thinking about just hanging four steel wires from two lengths of box section. Would this suffice? If anyone has some experience with regard to this it would be much appreciated. Would consider buying one if there available.

Yes, this will work.

We made a pad, hung steel wires from 4 corners. Put car on pad and rotated, timed the pendulum swing/rotation, record and was able to calculate moment of inertia.

There's probably a bit more to the mathematics, but the general gist of it is there.
