For those of you who don't know, Platteville will be on the Daily Show tonight at 10pm (central?) on comedy central.
Long story short, one of the people running for sheriff changed his name to Andy Griffith and got sued by the real Andy Griffith. The Daily show came to interview him, then attended one of UW-P's house parties. I really don't know how Platteville is going to be portrayed, but it will definately be interesting to watch!

Jon Stewarts Daily Show is about my fav program at the moment, tells me all I need to know about Planet Bush. I think We're getting it about a week late.
RE staying in Newcastle. Rotor and I went up there for the Kart Nationals in 2001, Discovered it's a big university town rather than shipyards nowadays. More hot single women per sq yard than anywhere else in the country. We ate at a suburban fish & chip shop nearly every night because the interaction between the locals and the two women running it was like a live comedy show! (and free) Has Surf, Lakes, big kart track, cold beer, no handguns. you will love it.

What has television production come to these days! Geez, first there was the corny "I make movies for HBO" pickup line, and now *this*. I mean, they probably drank 'yer beer and everything, and didn't even give you a mention!

Seriously though, I have a very good friend who had a camera crew invade his shop for a day following that famous group of local chopper hacks around town. He did over a grand of free work for the cameras that day, and not one frame of the video they shot ever made it on the air! See if he'll ever do any more free work for the publicity.....

Lol, I'm just kiddin'. The real reason I want to go is to get a different perspective on engineering, and see a new country. But hot single women are definately a bonus. Platteville (I'm assuming like most other engineering schools) is a sausage fest. There are women, but you don't want to date engineering women here...they shave...their face...and all (10) of the hot chicks are taken for the most part. Pickins is slim.

Anyway, thanks for the reply. I'm glad I'm hearing a bunch of positives. The only negative I heard so far was australians hate Bush. But what can I say? He's retarded. He can't say a single sentence without studdering or pausing to think. It's like he opens his mouth, then thinks "What was I gonna say?"

I can't wait to go to Australia, it's gonna be a blast!
