G'day all,
I was just interested to know if anyone had come across a technical manual for the Risse Shocks, similar to what Penske does? Specifically the Jupiter 5. Any tech info would be appreciated.

Cheers,
Chris

Risse has some good info on their site, but for the Jupiter-5, goto:

That is all we have been going on for quite a while.

Not technical data, but we were fairly disappointed with the build quality in the Risse shocks.

Tolerances for bearings that should have been +.0005 / -.0000 were measured +/- .0030 on the actual part. Adjustment knobs falling off.. big variation in how firm the 'clicks' were.. leaking..

we were also disappointed in the build quality.

i know when you compress a shock on our car you can hear the friction. it sounds like someone running their fingernail on a nylon coat.

not to mention the fact that the adjustments are coupled together with a rebound change also changing compression. good times. steer clear.

Yeah we have run Risse shocks in the past however we are looking into Penskes this year. When you have to buy 8 to find 4 similar ones it is not good. Just want some technical data on the Risses for my final year project http://fsae.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_cool.gif. Some how we cant find any in the workshop and our good/passable ones are on our 2005 car thats in Germany. Im doing a project that compares both MTB and racing car shocks to determine which one is better for Formula SAE. If anyone has any shock dyno curves for Risse or even any other shocks that I could use for this it would be most appreciated.

Cheers,
Chris

Chris-

I have some Risse dyno curves back on my home computer. Send me a PM with your email and I will send them your way.
