Hi guys!
I'm looking to build a hydraulic actuation system for the clutch, with paddle behind the steering wheel.
The problem is that i couldn't find a nice and neat master cylinder for the purpose.
I thought about using a brake level from mountain bike hydraulic disk brake system, but i'm not sure.
What you guys use?

This stuff shouldn't be too hard to find. With hydraulics like this, you just need to worry about the mechanical advantage using MC bores of different sizes compared to the piston size of the clutch actuator. As far as what most teams do, they just use push/pull cables or bicycle brake cable (but it makes for a shitty feeling).

You probably misunderstood me...
My "problem" is that i couldn't find a small, light, easy to modify master cylinder. We have previously used the original clutch cable, but we would like to go one step ahead. http://fsae.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

We've got one which I forget the name of, but the master cylinder is the same size as most which is fine for our requirements.
Magura do the biggest range of master cylinders so have a look at their website. Don't expect to get it cheap though and you'll need to calculate your piston sizing carefully. Whatever you do I think you'll probably have to modify an existing leaver. Either that or make your own!

Mike, Is it a Hebo one by any chance ? We've got one in the workshop, little project for the 1-200 team to fit to their car.

We used a cylinder from the brake lever of our GSXR. It worked quite good with our steering shaft mounted hydraulic clutch. I think you have the look at the forces needed for engaging the clutch. A lever on the steering wheel like a shift paddle would have never worked with our anti-hoping clutch.

This Hebo kit looks really nice...
How much it costs?

Bingo! That's the badger http://fsae.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif Really nicely made unit and comes with a tonne of hose fittings so it's really easy to fit. Can use standard Goodridge hosing too unlike the Maguras which helps.
