hey everyone .. m from a new team ... we are a bit confused about wat material to use for the impact structure ... foam or Al honeycomb or nomex ... could anyone suggest anything .. and also is flexcore same as a honeycomb structure ??

There is no unanimous consensus on the perfect material for the structure. Everything you have suggested could work.

Teams have also used Ti mmc, welded steel box structure with known failure rates/modes, and other honeycomb structures (not Al). Anything can work, just do the calculations beforehand to get a rough idea. Test one, and see what happens.

hey thanks grant .. also cud u help me out wid wat all parameters of d materail need to be determined for the calculations .. nd yah u din answer d 2nd part .. is a FLEXCORE same as the HONEYCOMB structure ...
