Hi guys. what is the usual inclination of the sump you guys usually use in your car's engine for the fsae comp? please reply asap.

Isn't the standard approach more is better when you haven't got a clue what you're doing? Hell, mount that shit upside down.

I can tell you that designing for, and testing for a 60 deg. steady state angle isn't quite enough, and will still starve on the track.

Krish,

If your car is electric, then the sump inclination would be AC/DC, however, most IC engined sumps are inclined straight, but a number may be gay.

Thank yu guys for ur response. We r participating in FSAE Italy next sept. So basically we wanted to experiment with the engine. Hence, i wanted to knw what is the preferable angle of the sump u guys keep while making ur cars.
