View Full Version : spring travel due to roll ????

I was just Calculated the roll and ride rates it shows that spring travel due to roll = 0.5*track*sin(phi)

actualy I want to know that travel for ( pumb and rebound both ) or For one of them only , ???

secondly when calculated the forces on arms during cornering , the force on pushrod was enough to compress the spring 5.2 cm
while the spring travel due to roll is 2.3 cm ( NOt knowing for pump or rebound only OR both )
And I'm using MR= 1 Track front = 1.3 m
the spring overall travel is 5.7 cm ( stroke )

Actualy Idnt meant a free body to calculated force i meant an equation to calculates spring trave or wheel tavel due to roll http://fsae.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Everything begins with a free body diagram. Where to go after that is up to you to decide. Grab a book and figure it out. A copy of RCVD would answer all your questions, if your up to it. Or better yet, spend an hour reading through these forums. That should give you a head start.
