NJIT,
If you go to our web site
www.taylor-race.com (http://www.taylor-race.com)
You will find a slew of drawings in the Tech Documents that will help you.
If you can not find what ya need...shoot me an e-mail
scotty@taylor-erace.com.

are there any places that make custom driveshafts that aren't as expensive as taylor racing?

Yeah, order ATV stuff, rip out the inner axle between the CVs and replace with your own custom turned axle. Easy as 1-2-3...
You can design your own custom shafts quite affordably, just get sponsors on board to help you with the process'. Metal supplier, spline shop, heat treat shop.

Try Summers Brothers in Los Angeles... Onterio I think. They do not have a website.
They made them for my Mini, for a good price.
