Anyone know some typical numbers for a uniaxial standard modulus carbon laminate? I was given the numbers for last year's monocoque and they seem a little strange to me (a difference in modulus between X and Y of only 1.35 times...)
I'm looking for the E in X, Y and Z
PR in XY, YZ, and XZ
GXY, GYZ, GXZ.

I call shenanigans.
I think they're messing with you Mike. Maybe a decimal got mixed up because 13.5 seems a little more reasonable but still pretty low.
Did you buy the book when you took Dr. Dillman's composites classes? It's actually a pretty good book. ("Handbook of Composites" S.T. Peters ISBN 0412240207). It's a pretty good deal from the WWU bookstore. I am pretty sure it was less than $100 (Amazon.com wants $229!). Looks like you might be able to get it online through the UW library (http://catalog.lib.washington.edu/search/thandbook+of+composites/thandbook+of+composites/1%2C5%2C6%2CB/frameset&FF=thandbook+of+composites&2%2C%2C2).
