My new question is regarding the VSS signal. How much of a problem will it give me in drivability with it not plugged in or with it having the wrong speed signal going to the ECU? Also if anyone know how to re-calibrate/cheat it to fit my needs?
We are useing a 05 CBR RR engine/trans.
The bike comes with:
16 tooth drive & ? tooth driven sprocket with 180/55/17 tire and wheel set.
We have:
16 tooth drive & 53 tooth driven with 185/60/14 tires and wheels.
Thanks 4 your help.

thanks

I am not completely sure of what will happen with the RR but when running the F4i it makes no real difference running with the sensor unplugged. I know that many new cars especially run different speed based compensations as the load changes and whatnot but I do not know to what extent this will effect drivability. If I had to guess I would say that running without it would be very minor and everything should be OK.
If you still really wanted that input I would simply run the sensor off of an external trigger wheel that would have the proper number of teeth to correspond to what the bike saw for a given ground speed. This would make let the ecu know the proper ground speed and the separate trigger wheel could be mounted to the sprockets, diff, or anything else that turned unbiased from wheel speed differences while cornering.
You seem like you have a fairly new team and if you search this forum you will find about a million threads on what ecu to run. I personally like either a Motec M800 because it is setup to run TC, SWOL, Launch Control, Fuel cut,and everything a racecar needs. At the opposite end of the spectrum I would run a megasquirt setup because it is open code and you can program it to do whatever you want. I want input xxx to control output yyy though table zzz and it works. National Instruments has also come out with what it is calling the cRIO which is basically a write it yourself controller that can take whatever sensor inputs you want and do dang near everything using Labview (really easy) code. Or at least there is my 2 cents on the subject.
