I'm not entirely sure how the Goodyear numbering system works. Is this just a new construction, still in the R065 compound, or is it a different compound as well?

from what i understand it is a new construction and new compound

It is a new compound (not currently used on anything else) and a new carcass. The D number is arbitrary.

Why have they stopped producing 10" tires? Aren't more and more FSAE teams going to the 10" wheels? Guess our choices are a little more limited now.

If I remember correctly, Goodyear stopped producing 10" tires because they are mainly, if not only, used of FSAE cars. They are difficult to make because of their size and they are not cost efficient to build. I believe the 13" tires are used on many SCCA class race cars, like DSR.

F500 uses 10" wheels.

Its unfortunate that the 10" size was discontinued, but the Race department has to look at what makes sense to build in the current business environment. FSAE or not, in the grand scheme of things the 10" size probably would have been discontinued anyway.
