Greetings,

I was searching the SAE store for chassis design pubs and ran across this:

Racing Chassis and Suspension Design (http://www.sae.org/servlets/productDetail?PROD_TYP=BOOK&PROD_CD=PT-90)

This was the first I had heard of this, and I didn't find any references to it on www.fsae.com (http://www.fsae.com). Has anyone bought or viewed it? I would imagine, since Mr. Smith collected the papers, that it is top-notch, and I will probably buy it anyway sight unseen, but I thought an enterprising team out there may have already picked it up. Reviews, anyone?

Thanks in advance.

I don't wish to sound rude, but this is very much not as good as it sounds.I had a quick flick through it in the bookstore tent in Detroit this year and it's just a paper collection, no insight from Carroll.

Some of the papers have been in MSEC proceedings and I'm sure they're all individualy available from the SAE.

My feeling is that this is a way of selling an unexceptional paper collection off the back of Carroll's reputation and it doesn't serve his memory well IMHO.

Our team has it and my thoughts are similiar to ben's. There is very little Caroll Smith in there. The best part about Caroll's books is how readable they are, this is just a bunch of SAE papers, not very easy to read.

Some of them are interesting though.

I bought it and I confirm Ben thoughts.

Anyway the papers included are usefull to study.

The papers are good, but if you were really bothered you good do a literature review and buy maybe a few you really needed from the SAE anyway.
