After his long battle with cancer, Paul Newman died last night (9/26/08) at his home near Westport,CT.
Paul Newman, along with being a legendary actor and race car driver, was dedicated to charity and helping others. As of last year the Newman's Own Foundation had donated more than $175 million to charities of which more than $125 thousand was donated to the University of Hartford Formula SAE team. His generosity will forever impact my life as an engineer which I am sure you all can understand from being on FSAE teams yourself.
I would appreciate it if you all could have a moment of silence as the world mourns for the loss of a good man who will be missed.
If anyone has anything they would like to say to the Foundation or the family, please post here as I will be providing a link the forum with my letter to the Foundation.
