View Full Version : Injectors
I am curious as to whether our injectors/fuel regulator etc are correct. Could someone tell me how long their injectors open for roughly at a couple of different parts of maps so i could compare with ours.
What are the general rules when picking injectors and regulator?
Cheers

First off are you running forced induction or naturally aspirated? The stock injectors/regulator will work fine for naturally aspirated but most definately won't work for a forced induction setup. There are formulae all over the internet for fuel injector sizing.

We used stock injectors (2001 GSXR600) on our turbo setup and haven't even come close to maxing them out.
As far as a regulator goes, you'll have more than enough flow capacity with even the smallest regulator you can find. We used a Malpassi FPR from Kinsler. Have you set (or even checked) your base fuel pressure? The regulator you're using has a vacuum/boost reference (and you're using it), correct? What kind of ECU are you using?
The RC Engineering site gives you a good, quick basic look at injector sizing.
