FSAE-A 2011 - Call for volunteers

Greetings all,

I've recently taken on a role here at SAE-A assisting with FSAE stuff, and so from time to time I'll be posting on here in an "official" (?!) capacity. I'll try not to make it too painful.

The FSAE-Oz event is only a few weeks away, and we are looking for volunteers of all skills and backgrounds to assist in the running of the event. You may be:
* An FSAE alumni with knowledge and experience of the event and how it runs.
* An FSAE novice who wants to learn what it is all about before having a go yourself
* An all-round good samaritan who just wants to do good for your fellow man

Whatever your skills and experience we would like to hear from you. Call your friends, your team's alumni, your cousins and your cousins' cousins. Many of us are given kickstarts into very good careers through our FSAE involvement - might it be a good time to give a little back and have a lot of fun doing it? Tell us your capabilities and we'll find a job for you.

Would there be roles for team members we bring along? Normally we have a few people coming along for the experience that aren't directly working on competition for the team. Some of them would likely be interested in helping out. Some of our guys regularly volunteer at local motorsport meets.

Kev, we will have no problem finding jobs for eager team members. If they are keen we will give them something to do. Keep an eye out here and I'll post more info as it comes to hand.

Hi everyone,

Just a quick bump to remind all that we are still looking for volunteers for the event. We are still need around 50-60 people, for all sorts of jobs. For example:
* Track marshalls for Endurance - an ideal opportunity for newer, novice team members to get a feel for FSAE before they reach senior year and start designing their own car.
* Judging assistants - an opportunity for FSAE alumni to learn about Design, and use their experience to make their own contribution to the event.
* Event assistants etc.

Whether you are novice or an old hand we can find jobs for you. Tell your friends. Drop me a PM, or get onto the FSAE-Oz website to download the application form.
