GET 'EM WHILE THEIR HOT!
The University of Western Ontario FSAE team is now selling 5 front sprockets that are part of a bulk order from Sprocket Specialists. Specs include:
-428 pitch
-15 tooth
-steel
-Honda F4i spline
We are desperate to get rid of these. Please e-mail the team at fsaecar@engga.uwo.ca or call us at 519-661-2111 ext 88355. If you are using this 428 pitch setup this year or are planning/thinking about using this setup next year be sure to contact us. You won't be able to find a better deal on sprockets of this kind. Thanks.

Bubba,
We might be interested in a couple. Send me an email with a price for two, I'll run it by the purchasing department http://fsae.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

We are going to have a local machine shop make a 14 tooth 428 sprocket from a 17 tooth 525 F4i Sprocket Specialist sprocket.

Dave,
Are you going to have them re-case hardened post-machining?

B.J., our sponsor said he will "anneal" the sprocket after cutting the new teeth. A 525 11-tooth F4i sprocket that he cut and annealed for us in 2001 survived the endurance event and is still in use. Ideally, if we were building 4 of these cars a day, I would like to get the sprockets made to our specs the first time, like those that are custom from Sprocket Specialists.

Dave, what size tires/wheels are u guys using and what did u have for a rear sprocket when running the 11 front? Did u really make it a 525 pitch, if so i would hope that is would survive even being only 11 teeth.

We built two cars with the 11T 525 front sprockets, and both cars had rear sprockets with about 50 teeth. This year we are using 20 x 6.5-13 tires with (4) identical 13" x 6.5" Kodiak wheels.
Interestingly, we even have a 10 tooth F4i sprocket, but it may not be strong enough to be used.
