Howdy,

Ive searched and have been unable to draw a conclusion from the results.

I am responsible for researching the application of a returnless fuel system on next years car.

Questions, Questions
1. what fuel dampener are you using/suggest and where in the system has it been mounted, before or after the rail.
2. are you using an internal regulator, or a pulse width modulated ouput.
3. people using the PWM style system, what pump and relay are you using

any information would be most appriciated,

cheers
alex

Hi Alex,
we are using a returnless system for many years except 2007.

1. We do not use a fuel dampener and had no problems with oscillating or changing fuel pressures or lambda readings.
2. We use an internal regulator next to the pump inside the fuel tank to keep the way back short.
3. Sorry, we don't.

Regards,

Tobi

cheers tobi

would you mind me asking what pump and regulator you use, is it a all in one unit???

It is an all-in-one-unit taken from a production car including main pump, feed pump, regulator, swirl-pot and fuel level potentiometer. I was not responsible for that unit, therefore I do not know which brand or type of car.

We use a Walbro PFA-32C pump, the one that was designed for FSAE teams a few years back. It self regulates pressure, running constantly, but just returning fuel that is over pressure to the tank. Don't think that they make the pump anymore though, we had a tough time finding it for the cost report last year. Check these out...

Try searching the forums too before asking!

Hope that helps!

I am still around but not with Walbro anymore. I tried contacting my old colleagues at Walbro, but could not get a hold of the right ones anymore so I do not know if they still distribute the special FSAE kit.
