We're considering using Ti, but the retail price of ~$85/pound seems a bit much. What have other teams used?

I can get you some 4" plate for about $8/pound, but you'll have a hell of a time making anything out of it http://fsae.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Is it THAT difficult to machine?
Is it grade 5? A couple 3"x3"x4" chunks would do the trick http://fsae.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif
