As a quick sanity-check, what are folks using as harness anchorage proof-loads?

I'm looking at a 100kg bloke @ 20g deceleration off a single harness attachment with a 1.5x safety factor - reasonable, underkill, overkill? by comparason?

We didn't proof load any to be completely honest. But I would say that's reasonable.

Marko,

if you made the cockpit a tad smaller, that 100kg dude wouldn't fit in the car...

FWIW, Willans specifies the attachment points for it's Silverstone harness to be capable of supporting a load of 3,500 lbs per attachment.

Based on that, I'd say your numbers are a bit over-kill.

Thanks Brian - 15kN per harness attachment it is then, including any safety factors. :-)
