Firstly, this forum isn't for handouts, so no one here is going to give you a step by step, hold your hand reply on how to make your own halfshafts.

I will however help you get started, because I know how tough it can be sometimes to jump in.

We start by figuring out the amount of peak torque the halfshafts will see (simple dynamics will help you get started with a good baseline number). We then manufacture our own shafts, selecting a material that we can work with in our shop (we use a fancy steel alloy, but whatever works). Select OD and ID that will be strong enough for the forces you calculated, keeping in mind any heat treating you do after (don't forget about any splines you'll need also).

Very often teams buy halfshafts from places like Taylor Race.

Producing your own halfshafts can be a pretty difficult/painful endeavor. The splines, gun drilling, heat treating, etc is just not worth the design time for many teams when you can buy an entire package that just works.

We have purchased ours from Taylor Race the past 3 years now. They work just fine and are easy enough to set up for the car.
