since all the the service manuals.speak about the dry weight and the wet weight of the "whole" motorbike http://fsae.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif.....but it seems hard to get the separate engine weight which is so important......any one have ideas iam comparing :
Honda cbr600rr
kawasaki zx600r9f
suzuki gsx r600
yamaha yzfr6x

I found the weight of at least one of those engines on this website in the matter of a minute using the Find feature.

Steps to find them:

1. click Find on the toolbar above the posting area
2. type " X weight " where X is the name of the motor
3. Read

The R6 is about 140lbs dry. Don't have good values for any of the other engines though.

Last time I weighed a 2005 R6 it was 56.3kg.

That's dry, without the rubber intake mounts or the sump.

I've got a figure for the 2007 R6 engine being about 2kg lighter (~54kg) but I'm not quite as confident in that figure.

BTW The 140lbs I mentioned is for an 03 R6, dry, with an aluminum oil pan(oil pan probably weighs the same rofl).
