Today we finalized the DUT06, the Delft car for the 2006 Formula Student events. After filling it with fuel, oil and cooling water, it was put on our scales. Below you can see a read out of these scales.


The car has a carbon fibre monocoque chassis, uses a Yamaha WR450 engine and 10" LeCont tyres. Official pictures are not available yet...

wow! not a lot to this one then!!

how does that compare to last years car? i seem to remember that being the lightest car at comp!

Well, the Delft concept has started in 2003, with the DUT03 weighed at 135 kgs at the competition. The DUT04 129 kgs, DUT05 137,5 kgs. So we did manage to get some weight off.

About the cross weights: this was a picture before setting-up the car completely, but you would probably have guessed that already. Un-official and official pics will probably end up here after our official roll-out.

But we are pleased with the result so far. Now ahead lay a good 6 weeks of testing, such that the car will also finish the endurance, ánd be as fast as it was designed...
