Just wondering if anyone has purchased a sprocket from Special Sprockets in USA? are they any good? is the titan tough option very good and what is the wear life like?

Dealt with them for years. Good cust. service. Good prices. As far as wear life, dont worry about it. If you wear a sprocket out then you did something wrong. Titan tough works good though. Buddy has it on his quad. It helps with surface scarring but it doesnt really help with sudden load strength.

They're pretty good, I agree. Only "problem" we've had is trying to find non-stock sizing of countershaft sprockets for our R6, they dont carry any less than 14t, and they'll only make them custom in batches of 8 or so, I believe. If anyone knows where to get countershaft sprockets less than 14th for the R6, please lemme know.....

What size chain are you running? Smaller front sprockets are available, just search the internet for them. I just did a quick search on google and found this place, http://www.kneedraggers.com/details/14-SSP-227 , which sells 13t for a 520 chain and down to 11t for a 530 chain.

thanks, just makin sure. dont want buy somethin first and then find out that its rubbish. we runnin a 520 cnain, and they`ve agreed to make sprocket in size we want.

FYI to anyone out there looking at counter shaft sprockets for an F4 or F4i...

As many of us are aware, the 12 tooth sprockets for a 520 chain for the F4 and F4i are fairly popular and in the past have been a special order from Sprocket Specialists...

However, to my knowledge, this has been such a popular request, that SS has put them into production and it only takes about a few weeks to a month to turn these around after ordering... Just a little info for next year. Also, the group buys tend to work out really well if you are only interested in one or two http://fsae.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Yeah Sprocket Specialists seem to be ok... as for the Titan Tough anodizing, in case you were planning on braking on the sprocket - our brake pads wore through the anodized surface the first time we drove the car. The underlying aluminum has been holding up though...

I think they're a good company overall, but they screwed up our order last year at a pretty bad time, and cut a pretty lightening pattern out of a sprocket that was supposed to be blank.

They replaced it at no extra cost except the time it took... they didn't rush it for us.

Sprocket Specialists carries a standard sprocket with the R6 spline. Its just a flat piece with no shoulders on it, so they don't list it for any particular bike. We used in for a TT600, but the engine in a '99 R6 has the same splines. Not sure on a part number.

I just recieved an 11 tooth for our 01 GSXR motor from Sprocket Specialists. This is for a 520 chain as well.... the only thing is, it took 4 weeks to get it. We will be testing this in our 04 car to see how we like the gearing difference. (had a 13 tooth)
