Just a heads up to all the Vic teams, there is another Khanacross (Basically an Autocross) at Bryant Park AKA Haunted Hills next Sunday (26th). It's about 1.5 hours east of Melbourne, near Moe.

Monash went to the previous one and it was great competition experience as the day was flat out from 10 am with no real break - good training for the new recruits.
Video of us at previous event here. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=znK5sjOgdt8)

We had 4 drivers in the one car for the day (it was pushing it, 3 would be easier). There was a total of 8-10 different coned-up circuits/layouts (well 4-5, but done forwards, and in reverse) on different sections of the track, some really tight ones even included the (sealed) car park.

To compete you only need a Cams non speed license (~$50 for 12 months), a fire extinguisher attached to the vehicle, and entry per person is only $20. I think 5 of us are planning on entering our personal cars just for an excuse to fang around a track.

We'll definitely be there and would love some competition!

For more details about upcoming events, check out the GCC Calendar (http://www.gippslandcarclub.com.au/documents/gcc_calendar.pdf).
There is ~one of these a month, plus the normal Hillclimb rounds.

Edit: Make sure you bring your own food, as they don't open the canteen for these events.

We're planning to do some driver training at Silhouette next Tuesday, so the 2010 car should be preppe & ready on Sunday to run. It should also give the drivers a different track to drive on, as Silhouette can be limited.

Unfortunately Swinburne won't be there competing.
The car is currently in pieces (see below) and we were hoping to be shaking down the car in kenworth's carpark this weekend (which was going to be a big push as it was). However today's events with our diff put a big doubt on that.

xx

I may try and pop down for a look and to see how everyone is going. That is unless someone has a spare seat for competing http://fsae.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif
