Im sure that Schmitty will add to this...our airbox on the 04 car has not held up like we wanted it to. Upon starting the car for the first time(at competition that was http://fsae.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_frown.gif) we realized that the sidewalls where sucking in from engine vaccuum more than a quarter of an inch. That was temporarly fixed by bonding alunimum to the faces. We have also discovered stress fractures where our restrictor attaches. It was a fiberglass box bonded to steel intake runners and a fiberglass restrictor. basically I'm curious how teams form there box and what materials they construct them from.

We an eliptical cylinder for our plenum. The Bottom and top plate are machined from aluminum and the cylinder itself is carbon fiber with two layers of baltex. It is plenty stiff and the tall variation seems to have decent distribution to the runners with at most 10% variation.
