View Full Version : Scales at MIS
Does anyone know if there will be scales at MIS again this year? I heard many things have been cut from competition this year, but hopefully not the scales. If not, does anyone have scales that they would be willing to let us use in the first day? Thanks!

Do you mean the suspension consultation company truck (whose name escapes me at the moment) that was there last time, or the tech scales?
(I was hoping to make friends and have access to some too, if they didn't show by the way, the set of bathroom scales we use from the Solar Car team's stash read about 40% different between the 4 of them --- not sure if they know that though.)
Best,

I can't see them NOT having scales. If I can remember I will grab ours and bring them...stop by the paddock if you'd like to use them for a short while.

Arvin Meritor's mobile lab will not be at MIS this year due to budget constraints...or so I vaguely remember hearing from Mr. Royce.

UW will be bringing its setup table and scales and would be happy to let some teams use it.
Being our scales we will obvious take priority.
Awesome, good to know some people can help us out! That was a huge problem for our car last year, since we checked the corner weights after endurance and found out why the car really liked turning one way!
See you guys in 3 days!

At VIR the design judges wanted to see corner weights posted on the car, so they were checked and recorded at tech. Due to the lower car count, they were able to handle some adjustment time in the scales at tech. I wouldn't count on that time in Michigan, but if you just want to see how far out you are, I wouldn't be surprised if the judges still want to see those weights.
