from V16 onwards, there is a feature that does it fairly easily, i don't remember wha it is called, but i used it once as a demo(input points in space for a line, then draw tubes over the lines), on earlier versions it was quite tricky, lots of sketch planes.

Its called "curve by table" The icon has a table and a curve with a buch of points on it. It is in the flyout with the curve with a buch of points on it in the surfacing toolbar. If you are only using two points you must go into the the parameters step and change it to linear segments

I find it easiest (version 14) to draw the chassis as lines (start with 2d and work out to 3d, using parallel planes and planes by 3 points) then in the sketch feature do a "sketch normal to curve" click on a line and draw the profile of the tube you want, then in the sweep function select the path for that bar (then ok or right click) and that will give you a bar or bars. It seems like a pain in the ass at first but it gets pretty quick once you have done it a couple of times.

Like the other guys said version 17 has a frame feature and from what I have heard you just give a cross section and then select all the tube that will have that cross section which sounds like it would be pretty easy, unfortunately our chassis is done and we only just got sent v17 so I haven't played yet.
Hope this helps
