what kind of diff is it?
I've never seen anything other than Hypoid Gear Oil, but that's not saying it's impossible to use something else.

I actually had a huge headache over this issue about a month back. We're using the same diff a team had in their car about 3 years ago and when we opened the diff is was full of bearing grease. We knew that wasn't correct so we got some normal diff lube for it. I can't remember exactly what kind, but check the Torsen website, that's where we found what to get.

The Torsen is incredibly sensetive to what oil is used - we could actually change the handling of F1 & Indy cars by using different brands of oil. Different oils also exhibit different wear rates of the various internal components.(I used to be the North American racing distributor of the Torsen, plus had an agreement for a few years to manufacture our own units, so I know it well)
Stick with a good top-grade synthetic for the best results. Brands such as Swepco, Valvoline, NEO, and Redline are all good. I'm sure that there are more that will work well, but as I have not worked with this diff in racing for over 10 years, I can't give first-hand info based on real experience with more current formulations of other brands.
