Hi all... http://fsae.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif i am an engine team member working for a team from Pakistan. we actually are the first team from our country so things get a lot difficult for us.

I am actually confused about the Fuel pressure regulator. The engine we have opted to use is CBR 600 RR, it has 8 injectors in total. We have planned to remove the airbox & injectors that come with the airbox so in total we will be working with the main 4 injectors. I have observed that the main injectors do not have a return line, the injectors mounted on the airbox have return line attached with them. So my question is that whether i would need a fuel pressure regulator? as i have planned to use an external, return type walbro fuel pump.... what would be the whole scenario ?...

Awaiting & anticipating your response http://fsae.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif Thanks for your help in Advance..http://fsae.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

The fuel injector need a constant pressure to be able to deliver a constant amount of fuel as the same pulse width. You will need to find a way to maintain this pressure to the injectors, whether it is using a regulator of some kind, or turning the pump on and off a lot. experiment and see what works best for you.

The RR has an internal pressure regulator in the pump assembly located in the tank on the stock bike. It keeps the fuel pressure at a constant absolute pressure of 50 psi. The "return" line that you found in the airbox is not a return line at all, it is a supply line for the primary injectors. There is no return line to the tank since the pump is internally regulated.

You will definately need a pressure regulator for your setup. If you use an external pump I would recommend using an external regulator that is MAP pressure referenced.

Good luck.
