I was just wondering if it is necessary to model the chassis with the attenuator when doing the crash simulation? Would it be alright to just assume the wall is rigid and assign the 7 m/s condition to the entire attenuator? Also does anyone have a sample keyword file that they have used in the past that I would be able to look at?

Thanks for your help.

Hello Suresh!

I had to do this sort of simulation last year. I set up the simulation with a rigid wall with all DOF constrained. The attenuator is "tied" to a rigid block with 300kg, which travels with the 7m/s.

Send me you E-Mail the I could send you some info.

cheers, Gregor
