Hello, I'm KAIST student,

We start to prepare FSAE competition

But We have a lot of problem

I think Engine CAD files is one of that problem.

I tried to look for engine CAD files, but

there is not Aprilia SXV 550 CAD files.

If you have a cad file of this engine,

would you send it to me??

I will do my best to help others, too

My e-mail address is taebyoung1@naver.com

Thanks for your reading

Hi

We had our engine scanned by a sponsor of ours a few months back and as a result we have an iges file of the point cloud of the whole engine and also a file containing accurate points for the engine mounts.

We are happy to share this with other teams however the only thing we ask is that in recognition of our sponsor that you agree to run a small Hexagon metrology sticker on your car (http://www.hexagonmetrology.net/)

To receive the files you will need to have an email account that can accept 20-30mb files.

Cheers

Thanks for your kind replying.

If you send SXV 550 CAD files to me, I will happily attach that sticker to our race car.

I will not give it to others without permittance.

Please send that logo and files to taebyoung1@naver.com

any chance at getting that engine on the fsae part file database with that sponsor logo as a usage requirement. I not intersted in the motor other than comparing it to size of what we use now.

I am also trying to get our SXV scanned. What CAD program are you using to read it?

Files are coming soon, just sorting out sponsors logos and a brief explanation of the files.

They will be in the form of IGES point clouds.

James, I dropped you an email last week regarding the database, but heard nothing back. What is your current email address?

Cheers

has anyone managed to convert the point cloud into a "real" surface or volume CAD model yet? I've been trying this for hours now, but the Pro/Engineer REX-module seems to be crap...

I would be very glad, if someone can help me with a CAD-file!

Chris,

We've failed to manage it with the Solidworks Add-in either. We're still working on it, but if anyone manages before us then please upload the model to the database if you could?

My team is also using and SXV550 engine this year, would you be willing to share the accurate engine mounting points with us? We will of course credit your sponsor on our car.

thanks in advance
