Dear all
i have completely confused !
the rule of thumb third (1/3) power for cooling is for brake power or chemical power (mdot fuel X c.v. ) ?
if we have an engine produce 60 KW the cooling load for it is 20 KW or 60 KW ?
please clarify your answer as i am completely confused , i am sure that cooling load can't be more than 20 KW and we have made our design on this value ,does this value at idling position or it is the maximum value radiator can reject ?! http://fsae.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_confused.gif

Please look at the stickied thread above for radiator design.

That said, why not guess which one is a better estimate.
