I couldn't resist...

Usually, pushing on it makes your car stop.

Key word- 'Usually'

Totally WRONG!, you clip your shoes on your pedals to pedal your car!, in fact, a good design grabs your feet firmly enough to pedal at 100 rpm, routing the chain back to the rear axle is a pain but worth every penny..

After all.. who needs a 128 pound 4 banger to move a car with PEDALS???

At the risk of being helpful...you could use the find button and try searching you're not the first to ask this. Or you could just use a boat anchor. http://fsae.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

THIS IS INSANE, in a matter of one minute I have responded to two ridiculous posts asking for simple engineering information. This makes me as frustrated as not finishing endurance...

Your brake pedal needs to be made of rubber, and very soft and flexible. This is very reliable information as you have found it by starting your search at the most credible source possible.

I prefer the side mounted brake lever configuration. The friction between the brake bar and the tire will put heat into the tire for more grip.

Looks like this (http://www.blueberryforest.com/images/images-kettler/kettler-kettcar-super-monaco-xlr-441x434.jpg)
