Can anyone recommend any in depth books on race car suspension systems other than Miliken's Vehicle Dynamics book?

I think Cement said "other than M&M".

However try writing some serious vehicle dynamic sims with just M&M and you'll find it falls short of being a definitive reference.

p.s. that is not me knocking M&M which is a really good book that ties together a lot of different aspects of Race Car dynamics and design.

I guess I am just looking for a different perspective. M&M is great for the theory but I'm also looking for more practical models to iterate from.

www.rowleyrace.com (http://www.rowleyrace.com) this book does tires rather well. It also gives you mounds of data.

Yeah the Rowley Race stuff looks interesting. Do you know if you can get a demo version of WinGeo 3 without buying this book? I would really like to try the software as purchasing a full version might be worth it but I would hate to buy something that ends up not fitting our needs.

I don't know if you can get a sample disk or not, but the Mitchell software will fit your needs. He is very responsive to FSAE teams and may be one of your judges if you make it to the semis.

My favorite is "Competition Car suspension" by Alan Staniforth. It answers questions much better than M&M in many cases. His Race and Rally Car Sourcebook is also pretty good.

I think you can download a demo of the WIngeo software off the Mitchell website.

Staniforth's book is very good for beginning. How ever it's misleading in some important aspects.
Rowleys "Introduction to race car engineering" is THE BEST BOOK YOU CAN BUY.
WinGeo is the very best suspension software within human being price range.
I think those ADAMS maniac devlopers should really learn from him in terms how to make product user friendly and easy to use. Oh! Sorry... than there's no one paying for training cources http://fsae.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif
