Hi guyz!

Did anyone of you ever had problems with the oil pressure. We also have some foam inside the oil. It is definetly no water and we have seperated the hole engine but couldn't match any mistake inside the mechanics.

Thanks, Icke

What colour is the oil coming out? What kind of oil went in?

It is bright, very blearly and milky.
The foam comes at higher revolutions and claers out after less than just one minute we have stoped.

The oil we use is SHELL ADVANCE ULTRA 10W-40
Fully synthetic motorcycle oil.

it sounds like water to me, are you running a closed cooling system or, a cooling tower on the dyno? Does the volume of oil increase from the amount put in? Is there an excess of vapour coming out of the crank vent?

We don't think that there is any water inside the oil. The volume of the oil is constant. On the dyno we were running a closed cooling system.

Try some UV dye in the coolant...becuase that sure sounds like water in the oil..

You aren't runing a dry sump are you? What kind of motor are you running?

Easy test for water in oil. Since oil floats on water, if you come back to your motor after its sat all night, crack the drain plug (assuming its at the bottom of the oil pan) and have a clean container to catch what comes out. If its clear, well...

Sounds just like the engine we gave to WWU. Milky oil most likely means you have emulsified water in the oil. Ours was an oil cooler leak.

It doesn't take much water to make the oil look milky; you might not notice a rise on the dipstick.
