James,

I think the USC car was the one I saw on the dyno. It was operated by engine vacuum acting against some springs. It appeared to work backwards, though, with the runners getting longer as full throttle engine speed increased.

Maybe somebody from USC can help me out with this.

that quality of the ETS car in those pics is amazing. It also apears to be a one peice monocoque, how the hell have they done that seing as it has reverse tapers on the shape so you cant pull it out from the back??

ps thanks for the great photos James, everyone over here has been eagerly waiting on pics from the US

It's been done in two parts (left and right). I saw the molds.

No, sorry, I only saw them... The mold were made with carbon fibre also and they used the infusion technique with vacuum bagging.

The guys from ETS told me that it was done in two molds, top and bottom. Then again I might be mistaken.

And the intake is ETS too.

Pretty sweet car altogether, well worth the two years put into it.

i was talking to one of the ETS guys that spoke great english after the panoramic pic and i think he said that everyone enjoyed the quality of thier body work, but they think thier car overheated because of the body and they didn't quite make it through the last couple of laps of the enduro because of it. Regardless i was one who enjoyed the body aswell

That radiator art is on the University of Arizona car. The Tucson Raceway Park sticker gives it away.

What is that cool black stuff that looks like a ram air intake? It cant be one since they already have the air intake with filter attached right?

Radiator duct. You can see the core layed sideways at the bottom of the shroud.

Dang this thread brings back memories.

I'm sorry but the mid-2000s were some of the best years for FSAE. Everything was much more "engineering student project" and not "wannabe-F1".
