View Full Version : Friction torque of Motorcycle engine

This question is mostly directed at ohio state but any hardcore engine or intake guys may know this from prior work.

Did you guys every spool up an F4i on your motor dyno and get some idea of the friction torque at various manifold pressures at or near WOT.

If you have would you be willing to share the data. Even a ball park figure would be extremely valuable for those teams who don't have a tonne of dyno access.

Has anyone else tried to quantify this based on deceleration rates of an inertia dyno.

If you've done it or don't mind giving her a shot but don't understand it's importance in design, maybe we can trade valuable knowledge for valuable data.
