More RCV-torsen questions

Does anyone use this set up with the original differential housing? That is, the RCV FSAE axle kit http://www.rcvperformance.com/saeaxlekit.html inserted into the original university special. If not, why? If so, I have the same question as Jon_Dal did a few days ago, where are the snap rings located in the torsen diff (and therefore how deep into the diff do the RCV joints fit)?

As far as I can tell we need that info to find our halfshaft lengths

I think snozeberries has a ch in there somewhere. Schnozzberries? Shnozeberries maybe?

Has anyone been able to talk to anyone usefull who knows anything at Torsen?

I don't know anything about it, but just from looking at this:

doesn't it say 1" of plunge?

Also, the splines only go 1.2" max.

The snap rings are a wire type, they snap into a chamfer on the side gears of the torsen and provide a bit of inboard preload on the stub shafts.

Assume the axles touch right between the side gears.

Also, the RCV axles are slightly too big to go in the stock housing. You would either have to grind a bit off the shaft, or bore out the housing. We are talking on the order of .006" interference, I believe.
