What is Geometry constant containing friction distribution assumption?
How do we start with brake calculations?

Billy! If you keep letting the new teams know racing secrets, they're all going to be fast soon!

To whom this may concern,
First of all please state you name and university at the bottom of each post, second please search on this forum before asking such basic questions, otherwise guy such as Billy will mislead you or be rude with you.
The following questions will not be responded to on this forum, we are not here to design your car, but to discuss techniques we have used to help each other out. None the less if your really want to design the brake system, you can use the following books or links.

Racetech magazine has an excel sheet online that can be downloaded and used to calculate your brake system needs.
Brake design and safety by Limpert Rudolph
Modeling and simulation of dynamic systems by Robert L Woods (Faculty Advisor for UTA RACING)
Brake handbook by Fred Phun ( very good, cheapest book here but great)

Start with these and you will have a good safe brake system.
I dont usually like to give out so much info, but this way if your are ever behind us during an endurance race, you will stop in time and not run into ours or any other vehicle which would could disqualify each team and possibly cause serious injury.

The first link talks about brake calculations.
The rest of the links are good too.

Also, basic brake calculations have been thoroughly discussed on this forum. Searching the forum (using the "Find" box) will also give you the above link, plus a lot of additional and important information. This "searching" also applies to other areas of the car if your team members have not yet used this forum.
